Adding To The Routine

Meanwhile it somehow became common, that every other day I add something to our small Qigong Routine.

So today I would like to introduce to you two more quite beneficial movements. They won´t be difficult to learn…

The first one is called “Washing the Face”. And that´s exactly what it does and look like. We start at our chin. Lay the fingertips of both hands at your chin. Mainly focus on your middle Fingers. Then gently strike upwards on the skin of your face. Around your mouth, then along the sides of the back of your nose, up to the middle of your forehead. There you part to the left and the right and circle downward over the temples and your cheeks until you reach the chin again. Repeat this Face Massage five more times, for a total of 6 circles.

With this “Washing the Face” movement we address and reach several energy points on the face and to enhance its beneficial effects you can tell yourself a suggestive statement during each circle, like:

  1. All the cells of my face rejuvenate
  2. All the cells of my face get youthful and refreshed
  3. All the cells of my face are vitalized and healthy
  4. All impurities and wrinkles are gone
  5. All injuries and scars are gone
  6. Completely pure and healthy

That´s it. This is the first additional movement and where to insert it into our little Routine I will explain after introducing the second one to you.

The second movement is called “Massaging the Ears”. We use the thumbs and pointing fingers for this massage. Between thumb and pointing finger we grab the rims of our ear-conchs. Starting at top most point we are pressing it and roll them up and outwards while we “wander” downwards to the ear-lobes, which we press, tow and hold for a second before we let go and start all ove on the top of the ears. (Ladies be careful, CAUTION! When you wear earrings. We surely want to enhance the blood flow BUT only INSIDE of the ears, not outside! So don´t hurt yourselfs!) Repeat this acupressure massage of the ears for a total of 6 times.

This “Ear-Massage” is quite valuable. As you may know the whole body reflects in the ear so you can adress every part of the body by treating the corresponding area in the ear. That is the reason why there exist a seperate part of the acupunkture for the ears, which is called Auricular Acupuncture Therapy. But for us its enough to know, that massaging the ears is as massaging the whole body and what we do is part of the reflexiology and of acupressure massage.

During the massage apply a good amount of pressure with your fingers, so you feel some twinge and a little aching (don´t press so hard, that tears will run down your cheeks!). After the massage your ears should “glow” in the heat of the enhanced blood flow and you should feel a kind of tingling or vibrating sensation in conch of your ears. This way you can be sure that the application of the massage has been efective.

Practissing this massage in the morning can make you feel awake and energized as if you have taken a shower.

Now let us see where in our Qigong Routine we have to insert todays movements. As a reminder, we start with the Sword-Fingers then we practice the Return-of-Spring shaking movement. After that we did the closing sequence and rubbed our hands. NOW we add our “Washing the Face” movement to the sequence. Then we rub the hands warm again and do the 36 Kidney upstrokes and massage along the Belt-Meridian to the front. Once again we shortly rub the hands and THEN we end the Sequence with the “Ear-Massage”.

Alright, well done! You made it! You added two more very beneficial littel movements to your Qigong Routine. If you already practice what you have learned, you now may start to feel more familiar with the method Qigong and I encourage you to continue with your practice!

See you tomorrow…
